Meet Your Doctor, Dr. Ian Weisberg

dr. ian weisbergDr. Ian Weisberg’s medical training began with an Internal Medicine residency at UT Southwestern’s renowned Parkland Memorial Hospital, followed by a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida Jacksonville, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow.

He then advanced his specialization at the University of Chicago, completing fellowships in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Advanced Clinical Electrophysiology with a focus on AFib ablation, Watchman Left Atrial Appendage Closure and advanced device implantation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ian Weisberg has provided dedicated heart rhythm care to the Florida Panhandle, launching the EP lab at Gulf Breeze Hospital in Pensacola. He has earned We Care Doctor of the Year honors twice, and becoming one of the first U.S. physicians to implant the Biotronik DX ICD.

He later expanded electrophysiology services in Okaloosa County by developing and launching the EP program at North Okaloosa Medical Center and performing ablations and Watchman procedures at HCA Fort Walton–Destin.

Meet Kelly Smidebush, MSN, APRN-BC, CCRN

dr. ian weisbergKelly Smidebush, MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later a Master of Science in Nursing, earning multiple academic and professional honors. She began her career in a multi-system ICU at Florida Hospital Orlando, where she advanced into leadership roles and achieved CCRN certification along with the VITAS Compassionate Heart Award and the Model of Excellence Award. As a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of experience in advanced cardiac care, Kelly manages complex cardiac conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings and is trained in procedures such as vascular access, implantable loop recorder insertions, and cardioversions. She maintains ACLS and BLS certifications and holds memberships with ANA, AACN, and HRS.
