Dr. Ian Weisberg is a distinguished Cardiac Electrophysiologist focused professionally on providing patient tailored compassionate care and personally as a dedicated father and sports enthusiast. Raised in Dallas, TX, Dr. Weisberg was a three-sport athlete recognized as “all southwest” in their conference in soccer and The Greenhill School tennis team won the National Championship at Duke University. Dr. Weisberg’s academic pursuits began at Emory University where he earned a B.A. in Economics while taking his premed requirements, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and studied at the London School of Ecomonics and the Institute of Italian Studies in Florence, Italy before returning to Emory for his Doctor of Medicine.
His medical training took him back to Dallas to UT Southwestern’s famous Parkland Memorial Hospital for Internal Medicine residency followed by his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida, Jacksonville where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. He then chose the University of Chicago for his final fellowships in heart rhythm care where he specialized in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and completed a second year at the University of Chicago in his Advanced Clinical Electrophysiology fellowship focusing on AFib ablation, Watchman Left Atrial Appendage Closure, pacemaker, ICDs, and CRT implantation advanced techniques.
Dr. Weisberg has spent the rest of his career caring for the residents of the Florida Panhandle and greater region. He spent 8 years in Pensacola where he launched the EP lab (specialized operating room for ablations and device implantations) at Gulf Breeze Hospital, was the We Care Doctor of the Year in Escambia County in 2012 and 2014, and was among the first U.S. physicians to implant the Biotronik DX ICD. Following this, he brought his expertise to Okaloosa County where he was pivotal in developing and launching the EP lab and service line at North Okaloosa Medical Center as well as performing ablations and Watchman procedures at HCA Fort Walton-Destin.
In January, 2025, Dr. Weisberg opened the only heart rhythm and AFib centered practice in the region here at Emerald Coast Heart & AFib. This has been a very exciting advancement in the heart rhythm care of patients in both Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties with the dedicated focus required to provide the care the residents of our community deserve!
