Kelly Smidebush graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Psychology, earning a place on the Dean’s List. That same year, she received the VITAS Compassionate Heart Award and began her career as a Registered Nurse in a 32-bed multi-system ICU at Florida Hospital Orlando (now AdventHealth). There, she cared for critically ill patients and advanced into leadership roles as a preceptor and charge nurse. In 2010 and 2011, Kelly earned CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification and was honored with the Model of Excellence Award. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at her alma mater in 2012 and became a board-certified Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
With over a decade of experience in advanced cardiac care, Kelly specializes in managing complex cardiac conditions in both hospital and office settings. She is trained in procedures such as vascular access, implantable loop recorder insertions, and cardioversions. Kelly is committed to a patient-centered approach to care and is certified in ACLS and BLS. She maintains professional memberships with the American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and Heart Rhythm Society (HRS).
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, staying active, and visiting Florida’s beaches. She is excited to join Emerald Coast Heart & Afib alongside Dr. Weisberg, where she looks forward to delivering exceptional cardiac electrophysiology care.
